The Holy Eucharist is more than just a "meal." Under the guidance and inspiration of our Lord Jesus Christ, it has expanded from its simple beginnings to serve an ever-widening circle of humanity. It has always been the central act of worship since the origin of Christianity. Designed to help those who participate in it.

F.A.Q

1. What is the Mass or Holy Eucharist?

The Mass, or Holy Eucharist, is more than a "DINNER." Under the guidance and inspiration of our Lord Jesus Christ, it has expanded from its simple beginnings to serve an ever-widening circle of humanity. It has always been the central act of worship from the origin of Christianity. Designed to help those who participate in it.

Worship has a threefold aspect and purpose. First, it is the offering of "adoration," that is, praise and honor, to Almighty God. Second, it is intended to help the worshipers. And third, and most important of all, it is intended to help the surrounding world at large, through the instrument of the worshipers, by pouring out upon it, great spiritual power. We feel and know, that it is good for us to lift up our hearts in praise in order to unite ourselves more completely with the divine will.

2. What are Masses for particular intentions?

It is the teaching and belief of the Church that from the celebration of the Holy Mass we gain the graces and strength necessary for the journey through life. A Mass can be celebrated for a variety of intentions, for our own well-being and needs, and especially for deceased loved ones. The person requesting the Holy Mass need not be physically present, but joins in prayer.

  • The celebrating priest may apply or offer to God each celebration of the Holy Mass for particular intentions: both for the living, and for the eternal salvation of the deceased.

  • In each celebration of the Eucharist, Christ's sacrifice on the cross, his death and resurrection, are sacramentally actualized, which, in the Holy Spirit, is offered to God the Father for the salvation of the world.
  • The practice of requesting a Mass for a loved one, living or deceased, is a beautiful and wonderful part of our Liberal Anglican tradition.
  • Every Christian may commission the priest to apply the Mass for a particular intention.

3. What are the benefits of offering a Mass?

  • The main beneficiaries are the faithful who bring an offering, since by giving a Holy Mass one helps both the recipient (who rejoices in a Holy Mass) and the priest who celebrates it. One contributes to the good of the Church of Christ.
  • Because of the priest's particular role as mediator between God and man, acting "in persona Christi" in offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, it is considered that special graces can be obtained when the Mass is applied to a particular intention.

4. What is the Stipend?

"The faithful usually make an offering, called a stipend, to the priest tocelebrate the Mass for a specific intention.

  • The Holy Mass has an incalculable value, since it is the sacrifice of Christ for the life of the entire world, which is why Masses are 'priceless'. The offering made for the celebration of a Mass is the expression of the donor's desire to share more intimately the fruits of this Mass. The material gift not only contributes to the support of the priest, but also expresses the donor's dedication to God.

  • The stipend is a very ancient Christian practice, which consists of making a donation to the Priest who celebrates the Holy Mass. The Priest who accepts the assignment is obliged to offer a Mass for the intention of the donor.
  • The practice of making offerings for Masses dates back to the early Church, when believers brought bread and wine and other donations to Mass to support the Priests and those most in need. In the Today, the monetary offering called a "stipend" allows believers to include a particular intention in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. This offering establishes a close link between the donor and Christian life and mission (the Body of Christ), since the offering becomes a form of material support for the minister and his pastoral activities.

5. Who are the stipends intended for?

Your financial support helps the priest who celebrates it to continue his apostolic mission.

6. Who will celebrate the masses?

Each Mass intention will be sent to Father Johnny, who will celebrate the obligatory Mass without delay.

8. How long will the Mass take to be celebrated?

The Mass is celebrated within the month, counting from the day on which the request was made.

9. Where can I call if I don't receive my Mass Certificate?
